Next Class: Online at your pace, Multiple Range dates to choose from!
Stop in to Register, Call, or do it ONLINE HERE. Once you've completed the online class and test, call to schedule the next available range date. You are not limited to the online in-person class date if you purchase from the website link above.
You can now complete your 6 hours of class time Online at your convenience and then come to our outdoor range to complete the 2 hour range requirement. You will have a few different range days to choose from and you'll be able to take the online portion at your convenience prior to the range date. If you would like to sign up, stop in and Register or click HERE. It's only $75 and includes two 1hr range tickets ($26 Value). You can use these whenever you like (this is in addition to the class range time (which is no extra cost). When you sign up we will Email you a link to the class and online test. The class requires an internet connection. This can all be done on a smart phone, tablet, or computer.
We provide range time, loaner pistol if needed, & passport photo ($10 value) attached to the Sheriff's Application. All you need is a gun and 50 rounds of ammunition. The cost for all this is only $75!
What sets us apart from other classes...
1. One on one range instruction. Many classes have multiple shooters on a line with only one instructor per 10 to 15 people. As many beginners take this class, we feel it's much safer if there is someone there watching every movement to keep the shooter and all the other students safe. As the other students wait in rotation, they're able to hear the instruction given to those that go before them.. which aids in learning by repetition.
2. Two FULL hours on the range (as required by the state). Lots of classes do less than this, we're not one of them! We feel the only way to learn safe gun handling is through lots of handling! You will be given safety and technique instruction over and over again. We've trained thousands of students since 2008 and we know what it takes for this to sink in!
3. You can use your own firearm and it's Strongly encouraged! We constantly have people ask if we can teach them how to shoot. When I tell them the best place to begin is by taking the CCW class... They tell me they already took it elsewhere but only fired a few rounds out of someone else's 22 caliber firearm! In our class, you'll learn how to safely and accurately operate and fire your handgun. If you don't have a firearm, we'll lend you one in a realistic caliber to the one you'll most likely carry. (380acp, 38 special, 9mm, etc.) Why do other classes limit you to 22 and to their own guns.. to make it easier for them to pass you. We're not going for easy.. we're in it to train you up in the way you need to go!
4. You can bring a HOLSTER! This may not seem like a big deal, but many classes and ranges forbid the use of holsters because of the added danger. The danger is that you'll leave your finger on the trigger when returning the handgun to the holster, or that you'll put your finger on the trigger too soon when removing it from the holster. In our class there are NO loaded firearms behind the person shooting. When you come to the line, you're instructed how and when to load. When you're done shooting, we drop the magazine, lock the slide back (or cylinder open) and check twice to make sure it's not loaded. It is then carefully returned to a holster (if you bring one). If you don't have a holster, you're taught how to walk with a firearm in hand (pointing in a safe direction at all times).
5. Students are treated with Kindness and Respect! We're not a bunch of jocks that jump at the chance to embarrass you when you make a mistake! We're here to encourage you and find your strengths! You'll be in a structured but relaxed environment.
In the beginning, most of our students were able bodied men. Over time, women that took our class referred others as well, noting the environment was unique and non intimidating. We've also had dozens of people with serious disabilities like amputations, paralysis, chronic arthritis, blind in one eye, bad necks, shoulders, backs, hips, knees, wrists, etc. There are many different forms that can be implemented when the ideal form becomes impossible. We're not going to give up, neither should you!
6. We keep the classes small by offering more dates as demand dictates. (Call for available dates and times or check the online link). Students are able to ask questions and participate much more freely than schools that have 50 to 80 people at a time.
