Range 1
This range is 40 yards and is wide enough to accommodate a group of 5 to 10 people. It is a 60 yard walk from the parking lot and is our most popular range.
Range 2
This range is the same length as range 1 (40 yards) but is only about 20 feet wide. It's good for groups of 3 or 4 people. This is a popular range for short range rifle shooting.
Range 3
This is the longest range we have (60 yards). You are able to sit at the bench and shoot at 3 different distances as we have two extra burms to set targets against before you get to the largest backstop at the 60 yard line.
Range 4-Currently Closed
This is the shortest range we have at 40 feet and is for small caliber handgun only. We still need to build a roof system above the backstop before it will be operational. This range will allow shooters to drive up to the shooting area, enabling people with disabilities easier access.
Range Rules
Burtzland Outfitters : RANGE RULES
• Always keep firearms pointed in a safe direction. Away from people and yourself.
• Always keep your finger off the trigger until aimed & ready to shoot.
• Always keep your gun unloaded until you are at the firing line and the range is declared "HOT." Firearms must be safe (unloaded - magazines removed and actions opened) when entering or exiting the range / firing line.
• COLD Range: Shooters must check with others to ensure firearms are unloaded, actions open and firearms laid down on the shooting bench before going down range. No one is permitted to handle firearms or stand at the firing line while there is a cold range.
• HOT Range: Shooters must check with others to ensure there is no one down range; when the range is declared "HOT" shooters are permitted to commence firing. Only shooters are permitted on the firing line. Shooters may move safe guns to and from the firing line only when the range is "HOT."
• All shooters are responsible for their rounds staying within the confines of this range. Shooters may shoot only from the firing line at the target in line with their position. Shooting at items placed on the ground or at targets not posted at the appropriate height on the target frame enables rounds to escape the range. EVERY BULLET MUST DIRECTLY STRIKE THE BACKSTOP!
• Respect the Range: Please place your trash into the trash receptacles and your spent brass into the recycling receptacles. Tracer and incendiary ammunition is prohibited. When going downrange, stay on the walkways to and from the targets-access to the backstop and all areas outside of the target lines and walkways is prohibited. DO NOT CLIMB ON BACKSTOP OR SIDE BURMS! Do NOT shoot our chairs, tables, target stands, or anything else that is NOT a target! You will be charged with vandalism for vandalizing our property.
• Respect Yourself: EVERYONE MUST wear ear eye and ear protection. You should wash your hands and face after shooting.
• Respect Others: On busy days, watch your time closely so that others are able to take their turn.
• Check in BEFORE you shoot: You must check in and register before going to the range. The range is open during store hours. You are not permitted to use the range at ANY other time! Everyone going to the range must check in and sign the waiver whether you are shooting or not.
Waiver Agreement
Release, Waiver, Indemnification, Hold Harmless, and Assumption of the Risk Agreement
WHEREAS, in return for instruction in firearms, use of premises, and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, the Undersigned agrees to the following:
The Undersigned agrees to indemnify, hold harmless and defend Burtzland Outfitters LLC, and any of its employees, directors, officers or agents, from any and all fault, liabilities, costs, expenses, claims, demands or lawsuits arising out of, related to or connected with: the discharge of firearms; the course of instruction; the Undersigned 's participation in the course of instruction; the range, buildings, land and premises used for the course of instruction or private use (hereinafter the "Premises"); the Undersigned's presence on or use of said Premises; and any and all acts or omissions of the Undersigned. And should any such claim, demand or lawsuit arise or be asserted in any way whatsoever related thereto, whether arising under the laws of the United States or of any State, or under any theory of law or equity, the Undersigned will indemnify, hold harmless and defend Burtzland Outfitters LLC, from any and all costs, expenses or liability including, but not limited to, the cost of any settlement or judgment made or rendered against Burtzland, whether individually, jointly, or in solido with the Undersigned, together with all costs of court and other costs or expenses incurred in connection with any such claim, demand or lawsuit, including attorney's fees.
The Undersigned furthermore waives for himself/herself and his/her executors, administrators, assignee's or heirs, any and all rights and claims for damages, losses, demands and any other actions whatsoever, which he/she may have or which may arise against Burtzland Outfitters LLC, (including, but not limited to any and all injuries, damages or illnesses suffered by the Undersigned or the Undersigned's property), which may, in any way whatsoever, arise out of, be related to or be connected with: the course of instruction; the Premises, including any latent defect in the Premises; the Undersigned's presence on or use of said Premises; the Undersigned's property (whether or not entrusted to Burtzland Outfitters LLC); and the discharge of firearms. Burtzland shall not be liable for, and the Undersigned, on behalf of himself/herself and his/her executors, administrators, assignee's or heirs, hereby expressly releases Burtzland Outfitters LLC from any and all such claims.
The Undersigned hereby expressly assumes the risk of entering the Premises and of taking part in activities on the Premises which include, but are not limited to, instruction in the use of firearms, the discharge of firearms and the firing of live ammunition.
The Undersigned furthermore hereby acknowledges and agrees that he/she has read, understands and will at all times abide by all Burtzland Outfitter LLC range rules and procedures.
This instrument binds the Undersigned and his / her executors, administrators, assignee's or heirs.
By signing, I acknowledge and agree to the above terms and conditions.
Who's allowed on the range...
Shooters must be 18 and older, or accompanied by a legal guardian who's able to cosign for them. You must be 21 to buy handgun ammunition (though you only have to be 18 to shoot handguns on the range). We don't make these rules! :) A legal guardian / parent is needed if buying handguns or handgun ammunition for someone older than 18 but not yet 21. This person must also be legally able to own a firearm. All shooters must be able to legally own and operate a firearm in order to use the range. This prohibits anyone with a domestic violence misdemeanor, any felony, and various drug convictions. If you recently tried to purchase a firearm and are on "delay", you must wait for the delay to come back a "proceed" before using the range or buying ammunition. Range Rentals
Rental firearms are available as well as silenced and full auto. Pistols and rifles as well as suppressed 22 pistols and rifles are $5 each. Ammunition must be purchased here for rental firearms.
